Updated: May 31, 2023

Since December 2021,ThitsaWorks has been providing Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) training program for microfinance institutions and their existing borrowers, with the objective of increasing awareness of safety and security in using digital technology for financial transactions. ThitsaWorks will strengthen its organizational capacity by building a disability-inclusive Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) training program with its partner organization, Shwe Minn Tha Foundation (Myanmar) which is working for the comprehensive development of persons with disabilities throughout Myanmar.

ThitsaWorks is working closely with Shwe Minn Tha Foundation (Myanmar) to develop disability- inclusive DFL training curriculum and produce trainers who are able to deliver training to people in the vulnerable communities. The curriculum of the training is adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities. This program is dedicated to the training of trainers who are serving the marginalized communities. With the network of trainers, there will be a multiplication of knowledge as the number of DFL recipients grows and becomes a benchmark in establishing a healthy ecosystem of financial inclusion. Through this collaboration, Shwe Minn Tha Foundation (Myanmar) and ThitsaWorks strive to enhance access to financial services for individuals with disabilities.

U Myat Thu Winn, Founder of Shwe Minn Tha Foundation (Myanmar), commented that “This project is a great initiative for the community of persons with disabilities to participate in the inclusive society. With this partnership, we hope to increase access to financial services for the community, and to empower them to lead independent and productive lives.” U Nyi Nyein Aye, CEO of ThitsaWorks, added that "Our core value at ThitsaWorks is based on our belief in Financial Inclusion. We believe that this collaboration could expand the accessibility of Digital Financial Literacy to persons with disabilities and underserved groups in Myanmar so that we can move towards100% financial inclusion.”
