Kigali, Rwanda | March 11–13, 2026
The ThitsaWorks team was proud to participate in MojaCom30 and the Inclusive FinTech Forum (IFF) 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing together central banks, fintech leaders, payment ecosystem operators, and global partners working to advance inclusive instant payment systems and digital public infrastructure worldwide.
Across multiple sessions, discussions focused on the operational, governance, and ecosystem challenges involved in running interoperable instant payment systems in real-world environments.

Running IIPS in Real Time
Nyi Nyein Aye, CEO of ThitsaWorks, joined the panel discussion:
“Running IIPS in Real Time: Liquidity, Uptime, and Operational Resilience.”
The session explored the operational backbone of instant and inclusive payment systems (IIPS), including:
liquidity provisioning
24/7 operational uptime
settlement and operational risk
incident and failure recovery
operational resilience across ecosystem participants
Drawing from implementation experience in Liberia and other ecosystems, the discussion highlighted an important reality: the success of inclusive instant payment systems depends not only on technology, but also on governance, coordination, operational discipline, and institutional commitment.
A key theme raised during the event was the importance of sequencing and adoption strategy when launching national instant payment systems.

As shared by our CEO during discussions at MojaCom30:
“What use case should we focus on first?”
The question sparked practical conversations among ecosystem leaders working on national deployments. While modern payment platforms can support multiple use cases simultaneously, choosing the right initial use case is critical to building trust, adoption, and ecosystem momentum.
Managing Errors and Disputes in Instant Payments
Sumon Aung, Head of Business and Product Operations at ThitsaWorks, joined the panel discussion:
“Managing Errors and Disputes in Instant Payments.”
The session focused on practical approaches to managing disputes and operational incidents in real-time payment environments, including:
liability frameworks
consumer protection considerations
operational escalation processes
maintaining trust in digital payment ecosystems
The discussions reinforced the importance of operational readiness and clearly defined governance structures in sustaining reliable instant payment systems.

Ecosystem Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange
Throughout the event, the ThitsaWorks team engaged with central banks, national switch operators, DFSPs, ecosystem partners, and the wider Mojaloop community on topics including:
interoperability and scheme governance
pricing and sustainable scheme economics
fraud prevention and operational risk
digital public infrastructure (DPI)
cross-border payments
financial inclusion and ecosystem adoption
The event also provided an opportunity to exchange implementation lessons from real-world deployments and strengthen collaboration across the global inclusive payments ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
MojaCom30 and IFF 2026 reinforced the importance of collaboration, governance, and ecosystem alignment in building sustainable and inclusive instant payment systems.
ThitsaWorks appreciates the Mojaloop Foundation, GFTN, ecosystem partners, and the broader community for fostering meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing throughout the event.
We look forward to continuing to support interoperable, inclusive, and resilient digital payment ecosystems across Africa and Asia.
